Iran is willing to resume nuclear talks with Washington on condition that it is treated with "dignity" and "respect", Tehran's top diplomat has announced.

The Iranian diplomat stated solely negotiations worked, and shared new appeals had come from mediators to reopen discussions with the Trump administration. He said Iran had zero undeclared nuclear sites, and Tehran had not yet reached a point to permit the International Atomic Energy Agency to access bombed nuclear sites for security reasons.

Navigating a Difficult Route

The foreign minister is navigating a difficult path since Iran aims to avoid be perceived to be operating from a position of weakness, and he emphatically stated that Iran had arisen more resilient militarily and psychologically from the coordinated strike on its enrichment centers in June.

He was addressing at a security conference in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to enrich uranium domestically that it will never give up" – the main reason of the stalemate in the prior discussions.

Previous Negotiations Abruptly Ended

The earlier sessions of negotiations between the US and Iran were brought to an abrupt and acrimonious termination on 12 June when Israel, with US support, attacked Iran's enrichment centers in a fortnight-long engagement that ended with the American leader declaring the facilities had been destroyed. Afterward, Western states exercised their authority to reimpose global restrictions, but Iran insists they have not had a substantial consequence.

Perfect Agreement Suggested

Tehran representatives said they felt they had achieved a "magic solution" to the uranium processing matter in prior discussions, when it was decided an Iran-based consortium with Washington's engagement could process nuclear material. Each party would have been able to claim victory since local refinement would have persisted and the US could be assured that Iran's nuclear programme was solely for peaceful purposes.

It had not been agreed in the discussions that Washington's technical specialists could work inside Iran, but that was a natural consequence of the consortium proposal. Diplomats asserted on multiple occasions they had achieved a deal with Washington's diplomat Steve Witkoff only for the arrangement to fall apart due to "spoilers in Washington".

Current Position

Iranian officials stated the partnership proposal was now off the table, but it seems very probable the offer could be resurrected in some form if talks restart.

The American leader last week said he had been receiving messages that Iran wanted to restart talks, but in private Tehran representatives state they are not yet getting clear proposals from America either straightforwardly or from significant local go-betweens, such as the Qatari government, the Egyptian leadership, Oman and Saudi Arabia. The Iranian foreign ministry has been charged of inactivity in the wake of the US president's straightforward manner, but Tehran asserts negotiations is not part of a performance.

Diplomatic Standpoint

In his remarks to the gathering, aimed to portray the US as a controlling nation that exploits the concept of global regulations, Araghchi said the fortnight-long engagement revealed the conflict could not be resolved by combat operations. He stated the attacks commenced with a Washington's ultimatum for an total Iran submission and ended with an absolute demand for a halt to hostilities.

Iran is assured the first strikes by Israel were executed with total Washington understanding and cooperation, making confidence difficult to restore.

Dialogue Continues the Primary Answer

Araghchi declared: "Tehran was not the one that had deserted dialogue; it was America and the Western nations that had always attempted to dictate their demands during the negotiations. Negotiations can still be active and remains the primary resolution to address disputes, but its requirements, regulations and tenets must be followed."

Repair and Rebuilding

In what is described by Iranian officials as the battle of repair and reconstruction, Araghchi claimed he was confident Iran's defence capabilities "are considerably enhanced than before 13 or 14 June of this year. All our capabilities have been reestablished. We learned numerous insights from this war; we have identified our personal limitations and the weaknesses of the enemy."

He added: "We managed to survive this conflict. Our enrichment knowledge, which they aimed to obliterate, stays intact. The sites and equipment, if eliminated, will be rebuilt; what is crucial is the determination of the nation of Iran and then the national cohesion that they aimed at, but were unable to destroy. The nation of Iran have become more resilient, more integrated, and more supportive of the leadership and the country in the aftermath of this assault."
