19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback the Russian player claimed his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a challenging season, winning just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in particular - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is his maiden championship after the Rome competition and initial on a hard court since spring of the previous year.
The win also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 different competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to get a title is really nice," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child Victoria, because the first title I won when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, including in Halle earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to question if his capacity to play at the elite level was over.
Yet the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an improved service.
The champion came back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the final five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour victory, gained dominance to force a third set.
The opponent defended four early opportunities in a tight deciding set before the champion secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, he clinched the title with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
